As a National Board Certified Teacher, I've learned the importance of reflection in teaching. Reflecting on lessons which use technology is an essential step of successful implementation. By reflecting on what worked, and what could be improved, a successful teacher will learn and grow. Both teachers and students benefit from this reflection. I use technology to enhance my lessons, study its effectiveness and work hard to make changes that will benefit my students.

Overall, I feel that I have a strong understanding of technology and how to successfully implement it into the classroom. I am proud of my achievements both in and out of the classroom. I use the Internet on a daily basis for lesson planning, research, and to support curricular benchmarks. I work hard to keep up with new developments and changes in technology and share that information with my colleagues.

While I believe I use technology consistently and effectively in the classroom, however, I believe there is room for improvement. My teaching partners and I are continuously searching for innovative ways to bring technology into the classroom. We attend conferences, workshops and graduate courses, which focus on integrating technology. We work collaboratively to find ways of adapting technology to fit the needs of our students and set goals to guide us.

One goal I am working towards is to improve my understanding of multimedia presentations such as telecommunications and distance learning. I'd like to learn more from my Intermediate School District about what options are available to our building and how to learn more. Another goal I have is to find a lesson plan program to use with my desktop and a classroom management application to use with my handheld. I feel these types of programs will help me with classroom management and organizational skills.

Today's classroom looks very different than those of just a few years ago. Changes are taking place at a rapid rate. I believe it is every teacher's responsibility to design and implement learning opportunities that engage students. Using technology is the best way to do this effectively.
